Shambhala Sun Day

The head of the Shambhala community, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, has said many times that the core contributions of the Shambhala teachings are acknowledging basic goodness and creating enlightened society.Inspired by this, the Shambhala Center of Washington, DC, is pleased to offer a monthly gathering to connect with basic goodness and to celebrate our society – the Shambhala Sun Day. Everyone is welcome, whether it is your first time or you have been practicing for years. Please join the community! The first aspect of the Shambhala Sun Day Program, which lasts at most an hour, includes meditation, a short talk, discussion, and some teachings and activities that are appropriate for all ages, including children. The second aspect is a social with tea, coffee, food, and good company. If you feel inspired, please bring a dish to share!
