Cancellation and Refund Policy

If you are unable to attend a program for which you have pre-registered, please notify our Registrar (registrar@dc.shambhala.org) as early as possible so that the Center can determine whether a program has enough registrants to take place.

If you wish to change your registration to a different program, we will cancel and refund your registration fee and ask that you re-register and pay for the program you wish to attend.

By the Center
Unless otherwise noted, the Center will cancel a program if there are not at least 5 people who have registered and prepaid by at least 7 days prior to the program start date. You are, therefore, strongly encouraged to register and pre-pay early to ensure that a program you’re interested in will not be cancelled. Should we cancel a program, pre-registrants will be refunded 100% of the registration fee paid (see Refunds below).

Refunds

The Center will strive to refund as much of your paid registration fee as possible, but we reserve the right to retain an amount that covers any encumbered program costs (e.g., texts purchased), and/or the cost of fees incurred related to payment transactions, refunds, and/or credit card chargebacks.

With the exception of refunds for programs that the Center cancels, all other refunds are given, upon request only, and under the following circumstances (unless otherwise stated in the program description):

Full refunds will be issued for:

  • events cancelled by the Shambhala Center;
  • grave and unforeseen emergency situations (e.g., related to health, death in the family, sick child); or
  • cancellation and refund requests received more than 10 days prior to the event.

 

Partial refunds will be issued for:

  • Cancellations by a participant fewer than 7 days and more than 72 hours prior to an event will receive a 90% refund minus the prorated cost of any program-related materials already purchased by the Center (unless those materials can be used for a future program).

 

  • Cancellations by a participant within 72 hours of an event will receive a 50% refund minus the prorated cost of any program-related materials already purchased by the Center (unless those materials can be used for a future program).

 

  • We do not issue refunds for requests made after an event, except for the emergency situations mentioned above, on a case-by-case basis only.
