Free Introductory Talk: Mindfulness for Everyday Life

August 7th

Date details +
    Room: Zoom Online

How long should I sit in meditation daily? Do I have to sit? Do I have to sit every day? Are there other ways to practice mindfulness and awareness?

In this month's talk, we'll explore the difference between "dedicated" and "integrated" meditation practice and how to effectively employ each type to bring more balance and ease to our everyday lives.

Chris Montone has been practicing meditation for 25 years. From 2005 to 2009 he was the Director of the Shambhala Meditation Center of Washington, DC, where he has taught classes on Buddhism and meditation since 2003.

This is part of a series of talks on meditation that generally occur on the first Wednesday of each month, at 7:00 pm Eastern Time. Each month we will hear a talk by a member of our Shambhala community on how we personally work to make meditation an active part of everyday life.
First Wednesday of the month, 7:00 - 8:00 PM, live on Zoom, with some exceptions. No charge - Donations to the DC Shambhala Center help us sustain our activities and are deeply appreciated.
